I Heart Faces-Cell Phone Pictures

This week on I Heart Faces the challenge was cell phone pictures.
I just got my i-phone two weeks ago, so I am still learning the ins and outs of all the photography apps.
This is picture of my kids in the backyard when we had unseasonably warm day in February.  I love how it captures them in the moment.

I Heart Faces - Hearts

I was trying to take some photos of Sonya for her Valentine's cards to pass out at school.
She insisted she wanted her eyes closed like a ballerina.

I Heart Faces - Innocent Wonder

This week on I Heart Faces the theme is innocent wonder.  I feel like that phrase describes my daughter Sonya's entire life.  She is constantly living in a world of princesses, princes, Star Wars characters, three little pigs, Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan.  Here is a perfect example of her little world, here she is dressed as Dorothy watching Dorothy.

I Heart Faces- Winter Wonderland

This week on I Heart Faces the theme is winter wonderland.  We had a "big" snow last week, so I bundled up the kids and headed outside at 7:45 am, we lasted until 8:00 am.  I did get this cute shot of my girl eating the snow.

I Heart Faces- The Face

This week on I Heart Faces the theme is "the face."
I took this photo on Mother's Day last Spring.
It is of my mother in law, grandmother in law, and sister in law.
Since then Fae, my grandmother in law, has gone home to the Lord.
I love that I was able to capture three generations of women in my husband's family.
Can you see the resemblance?

I Heart Faces- Orange

This week on I Heart Faces the theme is orange.  The color orange holds a special place in my heart because my high school colors were orange and black.  There aren't too many schools around that support those colors, or have our mascot the Statesmen.  I love that we were so different than everyone else.  The Statesmen were my inspiration for this particular theme.  The football team is currently undefeated for the second year in a row and on the road to win the state championship again.  They had a playoff game this past week, so I headed over to our favorite babysitter, Gracie's house before the game because I knew she would be decked out in orange.
I think she looks stunning.

I Heart Faces- Chalk

This week's photo challenge over at I Heart Faces is chalk.
I knew what photo I wanted to use immediately when I saw this challenge.
It is a photo of Sonya that I have posted before.
We were playing in the backyard and she took the wet chalk right to her face.
This could be one of all time favorite pictures of my girl.

I Heart Faces- Smirk

The theme over at I heart faces this week is smirk.  I took a whole series of shots of Kalie and Gracie at the beach in Michigan this summer.  One of the photos won second place for the beach theme, click the then top ten button below to see it.  Anyway while trying to capture a nice moment between these sisters, Gracie kept giving me a smirky face.

I Heart Faces

I Heart Faces is a blog I have been following for a couple of months, and I have never entered a photo.  Honestly it is because I couldn't do it anonymously, all of you would know.  HA!  So this is the week I begin my journey with I Heart Faces, with the theme being
"Gotta Wear Shades"
This is a photo I have posted on here on my friend Gina and her son Wyatt on the beach in Michigan.
I love that she is shushing him and he is sucking his thumb.
Such a sweet moment between a mama and her boy.
